Blood Oxygen (SpO₂) Troubleshooting Guide
⚠️ First, your safety
If you feel short of breath, have chest pain, feel confused or very unwell, or your lips or fingertips look blue, contact emergency services now. Don't wait for another reading.
If you feel fine but your readings look low or are missing, work through this guide.
Before anything else: how are you wearing the band?
✅ Position: One finger-width above the wrist bone
✅ Contact: Sensor panel flat against your skin
✅ Fit: Snug, not loose
See [How to Wear Your Band Correctly].
If blood oxygen data is missing
Step 1 — Turn on SpO₂ monitoring. Blood oxygen is only recorded automatically when SpO₂ monitoring is switched on in the QWatch Pro app. [Add path to the setting.]
Step 2 — Sync the app. Open QWatch Pro and let it sync.
Step 3 — Check the battery and that the band is connected.
If readings look too low
Step 1 — Take a still reading.
- Sit down and rest for a minute
- Rest your arm on a table at about heart height
- Stay completely still and quiet
- Wait for the reading to finish before moving
Step 2 — Warm your hands. Cold skin affects how the sensor reads.
Step 3 — Clean the sensor. Remove any lotion or residue.
Common scenarios and what they mean
"It reads low at night"
Lying on your arm or wrist can briefly restrict blood flow and lower the reading. Readings during sleep are also often slightly lower than during the day.
"It doesn't match my finger oximeter"
Take both readings at the same moment. Finger oximeters shine light through your fingertip, while the band reads from the surface of your wrist. Small differences are normal.
"I got one very low reading"
One low reading is almost always caused by movement or a loose fit. Sit still and retake it.
"I'm at altitude"
Blood oxygen naturally drops at higher elevations. This is normal.
When to see a doctor
If your readings are consistently below 95% at rest, even after following all the steps above, speak to a healthcare professional.
When to contact support

- Blood oxygen isn't recording at all with monitoring switched on
- Readings are always implausible (for example, below 80%) while you feel completely well
