Care and Cleaning: How to Look After Your HLTH Band
Looking after your HLTH Band keeps its readings accurate and makes it more comfortable on your skin.
How Often to Clean It
Clean your band a few times a week, and after exercise or heavy sweating. A clean sensor gives more accurate readings and is kinder to your skin.
Clean the Sensor Unit
- Take the sensor unit out of the strap
- Wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with clean water, including the sensor window and the charging contacts
⚠️ Don't use soap, alcohol or cleaning sprays on the sensor unit. Clean water only.
Wash the Strap
- Hand wash the strap in lukewarm water with a little mild soap
- Rinse it well
Don't machine wash, bleach or tumble dry the strap.
Dry Before Wearing
- Pat both parts with a soft cloth
- Let the strap air dry fully
- Make sure the sensor and charging contacts are completely dry before you wear or charge your band
Put It Back Together
Slide the top end of the strap into one slot of the sensor unit and pull it through until it sits firmly, then thread the other end through the second slot. Adjust both sides so the sensor sits firm and doesn't slide, then check the fit on your wrist. See How to wear your band correctly.
Everyday Care
- Water: your band is splash resistant, not waterproof. Take it off before swimming, diving, bathing, showering, or using a hot tub, sauna or steam room. See Can I Wear the Band in the Shower or While Swimming?
- Charging contacts: keep them clean and dry. If your band stops charging, wipe the contacts with a dry cloth and reconnect the cable.
- Chemicals: avoid contact with perfume, sunscreen, insect repellent and harsh chemicals.
- Temperature and knocks: keep your band away from extreme heat and cold, and avoid hard knocks.
- Straps: replace the strap if it becomes worn or stops holding firmly.
Storing Your Band
If you won't be wearing your band for a while, charge it first and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Top up the charge every few months.
Battery Safety
Your band contains a lithium-ion battery. Don't take it apart, crush or puncture it, and keep it away from fire and heat. Stop using it and contact us if it's damaged, swollen or unusually hot.
